“Those Words” my music on Spotify as “An Ignorant Soul”

I have just released my second EP “Those Words” on Spotify, Apple Music, and all other main music distribution platforms.
The first one was based on the theme of urban ambients and started from live recordings I did in NYC, Brooklyn, London, and Monaco. “Those Words” is based on iconic voices.
Concept
I have always been fascinated by music — often hip hop — having iconic voices in the background, inspiring words.
As I was playing with beats and samples I found first the Nina Simone 1968 NYC interview, extremely powerful which is the base of “No Fear”.
I was always intrigued by the controversial aspects of Malcolm X, his “The Ballot or the Bullet” (Detroit, April 12, 1964) speech has been used for “Tribute”. A new Netflix original series out now (Feb 2020) is trying to find an answer to his assassination.
I have been a fan of Spike Lee since his first movie, read many of his scripts through the years and have been following his Masterclass recently. The “Be An Artist” concept is the core of the 3rd track with the same name.
If J Dilla is the most influential producer I have found, Pharrell Williams deserves a lot of respect also as a character. His deep exchange with Rick Rubin about what music means for him generated “University Of Science”.

The Making Of
All of my music is produced out of my Ableton Live 10 setup, just by myself — at least for now.
A lot of VSTs (Komplete 12, Massive X and others), effects (Ableton’s, fair use of beat repeat), some samples (Magnetic Coast), some live recordings.
All played on my few MIDI controllers from Novation, Native Instruments, and ROLI. Mixing and mastering made possible by the impressive Ozone 9 by Izotope.

Spike Lee Masterclass is not available on youTube but inside the Masterclass app.
